97-Year-Old Tries Acupuncture

97-Year-Old Tries Acupuncture
GREAT FALLS - 97-year-old Priscilla Combs, tried acupuncture for her 2nd time within two weeks, to help ease the pain of her torn rotator cuff.
“I’m willing to try anything that will help," said Priscilla Combs.
Priscilla said back in her day, when she was a nurse, this treatment didn't exist. It’s a changing of times in how major hospitals like Benefis, are treating and healing patients.
"One of the trends in which modern medicine is going is to blend, the more fuzzy side, the natural side, the more ancient techniques with modern technology," said Acupuncturist Saneyee Karve.
Acupuncture uses a holistic approach of healing the whole body by poking needles into the patient."It's triggering the brain to release chemicals to increase our tolerance to pain, to reduce inflammation, and many other things, which is why acupuncture has a wide variety of applications," said Acupuncturist Saneyee Karve.
For the treatment of asthma, common cold, blood pressure, and especially pain. “It helped the rotator cuff up in here," said Priscilla Combs.
At 97- year-old she's keeping her mind open to ancient holistic healing. Thousand year old holistic healing mixing with today's modern day medicine.
This is from ABC Fox Montana.
