Mass. College of Pharmacy acquires acupuncture school
The acupuncture school “will spark the development of new inter-professional majors. We can’t wait to get started,” college president Charles F. Monahan Jr. said in a news release.
The pharmacy and health sciences college is based in Boston and also has campuses in Worcester and Manchester, N.H. It has about 7,000 students training for careers in pharmacy, nursing, dental hygiene, physical therapy, optometry, and other health care jobs.
New England School of Acupuncture, which has about 160 enrolled students, offers degrees in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. It also operates patient clinics.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The acupuncture school will keep its name and Newton location.
