What is Dry Needling?
How does it affect your future
as a professional acupuncturist?
All AAAOM
students are invited to attend a “strategy meeting” on the topic of Dry
Needling, hosted by the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association of
Minnesota (AOMAM)
Day/Time: Sunday, December
7, 12:30 – 2:00 PM
Location: AAAOM campus,
upstairs classroom
Legislation is
being considered in Minnesota and other states which would allow health
professionals such as physical therapists to insert acupuncture needles for
therapeutic purposes, without reference to the underlying theory and practice
of traditional Chinese medicine.
The legislative
committee of the AOMAM has been tracking this issue closely, and will present
their research and findings on Sunday.
Meeting Agenda:
·
A brief history and summary of dry needling in the
US and Minnesota.
·
Possible causes and effects of dry needling on the
acupuncture profession in Minnesota.
·
Options, choices and possible solutions for our
state.
·
Decisions, planning and implementation.
Please come to
this meeting! These issues affect everyone who practices acupuncture in
Minnesota. AOMAM is your professional organization, and your ideas and input
are valued by the AOMAM leadership.
