Acupuncture without Borders in Nepal

From Carroll Dunham, One of AWB's Team Leaders in Nepal:

"Today AWB-Nepal is at Kirtipur Hospital giving treatment to the fatigued doctors and staff.Tomorrow they will use needles in the Tundikel, a large park in the middle of the city where the poorest of the poor who have no place now to go are camping out beneath sheets of plastic. Priti coordinated with the Colonel in charge..."

From the AWB Nepal Team:

"We treated around 130 people. Most of the patients were from Sindhupalchowk district, which was highly affected by the earthquake. They were rescued by the Nepal army's helicopters. Sindhupalchowk has so far seen the highest number of deaths, with 2300 people killed. Everyone has lost at least one member of their family. But they have not lost their hopes. They shared their stories with us. Although they still get nightmares, they want to surpass the sadness and bring strength. Most of them wanted to get treated  and go back to their families as soon as possible. It was amazing seeing the positive vibe. We were there to relieve their pain, but they become a motivator to us. Everyone thanked us.

We also treated the hospital staff. They were happy to receive the treatments, and wanted a follow up program for themselves and their patients."
